K&R Tire, a locally-owned group of companies in West Michigan, is seeking a dedicated Commercial Tire Technician to join our dynamic team. With 7 strategic locations in Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Flint, Detroit, and Benzie. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our customers. Responsibilities - Dismount, mount, and repair commercial and PLT truck tires
- Inspect vehicles using company-provided equipment
- Perform onsite tire installation and repair services at customer locations
- Ensure the safe operation of company vehicles, adhering to all traffic regulations
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly care for equipment
- Participate in training sessions and adhere to safety procedures and company policies
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
- Work as a team member in the shop for customer tire needs
Qualifications
- Experience with commercial and PLT tires
- Knowledge of commercial and PLT tires and the mounting processes
- Ability to lift, pull, or push tires weighing between 30-250 lbs
- Proficiency in mounting commercial and PLT tires with or without mechanical assistance
- Capability to safely change and repair commercial/PLT tires in all weather conditions
- Ability to be on a call rotation for 24hr service
- Effective communication skills
- Strong time management abilities
- Basic computer skills
