Building and Grounds Assistant (Custodial/Janitorial )

Building and Grounds Assistant (Custodial/Janitorial Department) Hourly rate: $15.85 Shift: First Shift (Monday to Friday, 4:30am to 1:00pm) Hours: 40 per week Essential Duties Sweep, mop and dust rooms and hallways. Clean windows and perform general room cleaning. Vacuum and shampoo carpets; strip and wax floors as needed. Sanitize restrooms and dispose of trash, debris, and litter. Empty trash receptacles in university buildings and grounds. Assist with events and maintain safe indoor/outdoor surfaces during inclement weather. Pick up, deliver equipment and supplies, and perform cleaning duties in dining halls. Provide additional support for campus needs as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. No specific experience required; a driver’s license may be required. Must pass a post‑offer pre‑employment physical examination. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of cleaning equipment and materials. Ability to understand and follow directions. Legal Statements Miami University is an Equal‑Opportunity Employer.
