Telematics Validation Engineer

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR A detail‑oriented Validation Engineer with approximately 5 years of experience in automotive software or systems validation. This position is responsible for verification and validation of vehicle telematics systems, including mobile application interfaces, vehicle communication protocols, and OTA update functionality. WHAT YOU GET TO DO Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for vehicle telematics systems, including mobile application interfaces, vehicle ECU communication, and cloud/server integrations. Perform functional, regression, integration, and system‑level validation of vehicle‑side telematics components and mobile application connectivity features (Android and iOS). Validate connectivity features including remote access, diagnostics, and Flash Over‑The‑Air (FOTA) updates against defined requirements. Develop and maintain test environments, test benches, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) setups to simulate real‑world vehicle and network conditions. Identify, document, and track software and system defects through to resolution using defect management workflows. Provide clear, reproducible bug reports with supporting logs, traces, and network captures to accelerate root cause analysis. Report validation status, test coverage metrics, and risk assessments to cross‑functional stakeholders and program leadership. Collaborate with systems and software engineers to clarify requirements and ensure alignment between design intent and test criteria. Engage with third party hardware and software suppliers to define acceptance criteria, execute joint validation activities, and verify supplier deliverables. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer engineering, Computer or Information Science, or related degree. 5 years of experience in software or systems validation, preferably in the automotive or connected devices domain. Hands‑on experience testing mobile applications (Android and/or iOS) Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN‑FD, UDS) and familiarity with diagnostic tools such as CANoe and CANalyzer. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured approach to root cause analysis and defect isolation. Ability to write clear, concise, and thorough test documentation including test plans, test cases, and validation reports.
