Garden Center Plant Care Teammate- Seasonal Position

Our retail plant care teammates are plant lovers who love taking care of plants and working with people. This role serves as the primary caregiver of our nursery plants by ensuring they are watered and pruned properly daily. Our plant care teammates spend their days outside caring for our plants, making them look their best and getting them ready for a new home. These team mates do assist our customers in locating items and sharing their expertise in plant care.

Your Specific Job Responsibilities

• Upholds Moana Nursery's strict safety policies
• Shows up on time ready work
• Greets customers with a warm smile
• Promptly responds to customer needs, requests for service or assistance
• Communicates using radios to other Moana teammates
• Takes care of plants in our inventory as directed by manager
• Sells plants based on customer needs
• Helps customers navigate through the store and to the correct resource
• Maintains a clean and organized work space
• Participates in cleaning and organizing throughout the store
• Helps restock our product
• Learns as much as they can
• Answers questions concerning price, sales, services and programs
• Provides outstanding customer service
• Thanks, our customers each and every time the visit!

Physical Requirements & Activity

• Applicant must be able to lift 25 lbs
• Applicant must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Applicant must be able to work outdoors for an extended period of time.

Expertise & Experience Requirements

· Minimal experience required- passion for plants a must.

Nice To Have Skills or Experiences

• Experience or Education in Horticulture
• Experience or Education in Landscaping activities

Your Future Work Schedule

Our retail stores are open 7 days a week and we are busiest on the weekend. We are looking for teammates that can work weekends and be flexible to accommodate the changing retail environment. Please make sure you list your availability on the application.

Your Future Salary & Benefits

The starting rate for this position is $14.00 per hour and increases based on experience, expertise and responsibilities. Other benefits for this role include:
