Trades Specialist – In the Field Location: Bay Area/San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, CA Overview The Trades Specialist is part of a commercial construction field sales team, working remotely in the California Bay Area. Responsibilities Achieve top‑line sales targets for division and local market goals by selling DEWALT, HTAS, STANLEY, LENOX, IRWIN, BOSTITCH, PORTERCABLE, and other brands to end‑user customers. Establish, develop, and maintain key relationships with end‑user partners, managing CORE and other SBD user contracts and programs. Teach and mentor the local market team on end‑user development processes, including identifying contacts, navigating the purchasing process, and aligning efforts with product managers, distributors, and service centers. Partner with Channel Marketing to implement and coordinate marketing initiatives. Maintain and utilize Salesforce.com as a CRM and planning tool, communicating successes and failures in a timely manner to improve processes and future opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related field preferred; relevant construction field experience may substitute for higher education. 3+ years of experience in sales or marketing for construction supplies with a proven track record delivering results and experience selling to high‑level executives and jobsite directors. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication, organization, and multitasking skills. Ability to meld empathy with determination to achieve outstanding results. Valid driver’s license and physical ability to travel up to 50% within the territory assignment. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Compensation The Total Target Cash Compensation range for this position is $100,800.00 – $162,300.00. Eligible for a sales incentive plan or commission. Target cash compensation may vary based on level, location, experience, and local wage requirements. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual merit increases.
