Lead Assembler, Instrument

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to assembly personnel; foster safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Train, mentor, and support assemblers on procedures and best practices
• Coordinate daily work assignments, task prioritization, and issue resolution with engineers
• Coordinate assembly activities to meet weekly engineering build targets
• Communicate build delays, material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to engineers
• Set up, operate, adjust, maintain, clean, and troubleshoot manufacturing/prototype equipment
• Program equipment for established routines and processes
• Coordinate procurement and availability of materials, components, tooling, and chemicals
• Complete and maintain assembly build records
• Provide technical support to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
• Perform visual and functional inspections to verify product quality and compliance
• Monitor product quality and initiate or escalate corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with quality system requirements and regulatory standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspection-ready work environment
• Complete accurate training and build documentation
• Participate in planning meetings and report on build status, risks, and resource needs

Experience Required

• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment preferred; experience in a regulated manufacturing setting (medical devices preferred), equipment troubleshooting, and team leadership/training also preferred

Eligibilities & qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Able to lift 25–50 lbs occasionally, 10–20 lbs frequently
• Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
• Strong fine motor skills for assembly operations
• Comfortable working in a lab environment with moving mechanical equipment, electrical systems, chemicals, and solvents
• Required to use PPE and follow all safety procedures
• No drug screening required
