Manager of Institutional Giving

Manager of Institutional Giving (Full-Time, Onsite) Overview MASS MoCA, one of the world’s liveliest and largest contemporary art organizations in the US, seeks an experienced Manager of Institutional Giving to sustain and expand its institutional fundraising program, supporting an annual operating goal of $10M and a capital goal of $5M. Duties and Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of foundation and corporate funders, including relationships, cultivation, and proposal development. Collaborate across the organization to compile grant proposals, reports, narratives, and financials; drive growth strategies in a dynamic environment. Manage reporting for donor analysis, strategy, decision-making, and submission. Prospect for new foundation funding opportunities; communicate with program staff on prospect identification and program design. Coordinate with events and program staff for donor cultivation event guest lists. Support the Director of Institutional Giving in portfolio management and engagement opportunities. Assist with advancement events as needed. Maintain department tracking tools, including deadline lists and income projections. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 3+ years of institutional fundraising experience in a fast‑paced nonprofit, preferably in arts and culture. Exceptional writing and verbal skills, and experience in grant proposal writing and editing. Interest and experience in front‑facing funder cultivation, outreach, stewardship, and site visits. Ability to adapt writing style to diverse audiences. Experience nurturing ongoing funder relationships for year‑to‑year retention. Strong communication skills with Board members, senior management, program staff, finance staff, and volunteers. Effective time‑management and organizational skills; experience managing a robust grants calendar. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Work Conditions May require extended hours, including occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and festival events. Must be comfortable using a computer and technology. Physical Requirements Location: On‑site at MASS MoCA’s North Adams campus; regular in‑person attendance required. Ability to work outdoors, wear PPE, lift/carry up to 25 pounds as needed. Ability to perform administrative and computer‑based tasks for up to 4.5 hours at a time. Mobility: walking, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, etc. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $58,000–$68,000 per year (Massachusetts Wage Transparency Act).
