Job Summary:
A surgical assistant provides assistance to surgeons during operations and surgical procedures. The surgical assistant will provide pre and post-operative patient care, perform a variety of crucial tasks during operations, and may perform some clerical work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist surgeons during operations and surgical procedures.
• Provide pre and post-operative patient care.
• Perform a variety of tasks during operations, including instrument handling and patient positioning.
• Help ensure a sterile environment in the operating room.
• May assist with clerical duties related to surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications:
• Current credentials of Certified Surgical First Assistant (NBSTSA), Certified Surgical Assistant (NCCSA), or Surgical Assistant-Certified (ABSA).
• Minimum of 2 years recent CVOR experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with general and specialized surgical procedures.
Certifications:
• Certification as a Surgical First Assistant, Surgical Assistant, or equivalent.
Education: Bachelors Degree
