Forklift Operator

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a sit-down forklift to move lumber products throughout the facility while supporting shipping, receiving, and overall material handling operations.

You will play a key role in ensuring products are moved, staged, and prepared accurately and efficiently to meet production and customer demands.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport lumber materials throughout the facility
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks
• Pick, pull, and stage orders accurately for shipment and production needs
• Prepare materials for shipment by banding, wrapping, labeling, and taping
• Perform general labor tasks such as organizing inventory and maintaining material flow
• Use basic math and computer systems to measure and track lumber products
• Maintain inventory accuracy during all material handling activities
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe at all times
• Work closely with team members to meet daily production and shipping goals
• Follow all company safety guidelines and OSHA standards

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Experience with general labor, material handling, or order picking
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Basic math and computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a team environment and follow direction
• Commitment to safety and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience using pallet jacks
• Background in shipping/receiving or inventory control
• Familiarity with warehouse or lumber environments

Work Environment

This is a first-shift, MondayFriday position.

• Winter hours: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
• Spring/Summer hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

You will primarily work indoors in a lumber/warehouse environment, with occasional outdoor work when loading and unloading trucks. The role involves operating forklifts, handling lumber, and maintaining an organized, safety-focused workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Farmington, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
