Associate Surgical Support Specialist

This role is a very interesting combination of science and business. We are a medical device company seeking an enthusiastic and motivated self-starter interested in a fulfilling career in joint replacement and limb salvage medical devices. Many duties for the first 1-2 years will be related to training, mixed in with independent responsibilities. The Associate Surgical Support Specialist is an entry-level individual contributor and training role responsible for assisting the company with tasks related to creating a successful surgery experience for customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and review inventory in the warehouse while learning products, including checking in new inventory, organizing implants and instruments, and doing whatever is needed to make a surgery successful. Travel locally, nationally, and occasionally internationally to surgeries, training events, and marketing functions. Most travel in the first 1-2 years will be shadowing surgeries and training. Learn products and technology while demonstrating curiosity and initiative by asking questions with the future goal of becoming a product expert and technical advisor to surgeons and staff before, during, and after surgeries. Self-study skills required. Discover market trends and surgeon preferences to maximize the performance and adoption of our product lines. Represent Implantcast at industry trade shows – set up and staff booth, attend educational lectures, and speak with medical professionals. Interact cross-functionally with Implantcast Corporate groups in Germany. Complete other tasks as needed, such as updating and creating spreadsheets, seeking new customer contacts, and more. Must be able to safely lift and transport heavy bins, surgical instruments, and equipment. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation for submission to regulatory agencies. Coordinates and manages logistics to ensure efficient movement of surgical equipment. Qualifications/Skills: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Business/Marketing, Communications, Science field, or other with acquired skills. Comfortable in surgery setting; view surgical videos- if your stomach turns, this is not the right job for you. 1+ years post-graduation professional job experience Able to travel up to 40% of the time, including occasional weekends. Flexibility with time – you have to be there when the surgery is happening, and sometimes they go into the evening/night and sometimes you will travel out or back on the weekend Excellent project management skills including planning, organization, implementation, achievement of deadlines, and ability to multi-task in a sometimes fast paced environment. Demonstrated competence with general computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work in a small company setting and take on any variety of tasks with a positive attitude. Able to work independently. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and departmental needs. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
