About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Charge Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year preferred License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Charge experience preferred, must be willing to work in charge role Description: This position requires availability for weekends: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Occasional late shifts on Fridays may be required. Charge experience is preferred. Candidates with at least one year of experience are encouraged to apply. This position is open to first-time travelers. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required. Scrubs will be provided for the position. The unit supports a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The average daily census is approximately 50 patients. There are 19 operating rooms equipped to handle various surgeries. Interdisciplinary support includes teams such as IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Special procedures performed in this unit include general surgery, neuro/spine, orthopedic, and urological surgeries. Special equipment utilized includes Stealth, O-arm, ION, and various surgical tables. Travelers may be expected to float to similar units as needed based on facility requirements.
