We are recruiting on purpose a Civil Structural Engineer in Nashville, TN. Fantastic client listed as one of the Best Structural Engineering firms to work for over the past 10 years running.

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our expanding team in our Nashville, TN office. This role is responsible for leading a team in the design and analysis of structural systems across a diverse range of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial developments, historic structures, adaptive reuse, and renovation projects. The Senior Engineer will serve as a technical expert while also mentoring and developing junior and mid-level staff. Growth opportunities for this position include both Specialist and Leadership career paths.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients and participate in meetings with architects and contractors; review structural documentation and provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff.
• Lead and oversee structural design calculations, construction document preparation, shop drawing and submittal reviews, site observations, and responses to RFIs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure deliverables align with client expectations and meet Bennett & Pless quality standards.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of work prepared by others.
• Mentor and guide the engineering team, supporting their technical development, professional growth, and career advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
• A minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience, with emphasis on building design.
• Prior people management experience preferred.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Tekla Structural Designer (TSD), ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Microsoft Office, Bentley RAM products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
• Project management experience or capability is required.
• Experience designing with a range of materials and systems, including steel, concrete, and masonry, for low- to mid-rise structures.
• Working knowledge of Revit preferred.
• Client management experience is a plus.
