Animal Research Technician

The Animal Research Technician supports study coordinators and researchers by performing routine and advanced study activities, technical procedures, and animal care. This role plays a key part in both research execution and maintaining high standards of animal welfare and facility operations. Key Responsibilities Research & Technical Support Assist with study activities and technical procedures following established protocols Handle and restrain animals as directed Observe and report changes in animal health, behavior, or consumption patterns Collect specimens (e.g., blood, parasites, microbiological swabs) for analysis Accurately record and maintain study and animal health data Animal Care & Facility Support Administer medications and treatments as directed Prepare and manage feeds and specialized diets Provide pre- and post-operative care Receive, transport, and/or ship animals Feed, water, groom, and exercise animals Clean and sanitize animal rooms, cages, and equipment Transfer animals, supplies, and equipment as needed
