Warehouse Worker

Warehouse Material HandlerReceives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, chemicals and products within establishments by performing the following duties.Essential duties and responsibilities:Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, chemicals or other stock items. Opens bales, crates, and other containers.Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.Marks materials with identifying information. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.Drives forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to loading dock.Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.Requirements:Must have HS diploma or GED.Forklift experience required.Previous experience within an industrial warehouse setting or manufacturing environment highly preferred.Previous chemical industry experience highly preferred.Must possess basic math skills and be able to perform calculations (weight, counts, and conversions)Must be good with hands and able to work in the elements of all seasons.To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; works well in group problem solving situations.Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; pursues training and development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone's efforts to succeed.Promotes a harassment-free environment.Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values.Follows policies and procedures; supports organization's goals and values; supports affirmative action and respects diversity.
