Step into a rewarding role this upcoming academic year as a dedicated full-time instructor specializing in dyslexia intervention. This contract opportunity spans from August 11, 2026, through May 27, 2027, serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade across multiple school sites in the Galveston, TX area. You’ll make a profound impact by delivering targeted academic interventions, providing emotional support, and expertly managing student cases, all while collaborating with a supportive educational team.
What You’ll Need:
- Valid Texas Special Education Teacher Certification
- Dyslexia Teacher Certification
- Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related learning differences
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Capacity to engage with a K-12 caseload and adapt instruction for diverse learners
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans for students diagnosed with dyslexia
- Offer direct, evidence-based instruction and monitor student progress
- Deliver both academic and emotional support tailored to each student's needs
- Serve as a case manager, maintaining comprehensive documentation and communication with families
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and administrators
- Contribute to ongoing professional development and team initiatives
