What You'll Be Doing

As an R&D Technician, you will play a key role in assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities:

• Complete manufacturing and assembly work orders according to established specifications and schedules
• Assemble mechanical and electronic components using detailed drawings, prints, and work instructions
• Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and verify all required components are available before starting production
• Perform product testing, troubleshooting, and quality inspections
• Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and assembly-related issues
• Operate electronic testing equipment and power tools safely and efficiently
• Analyze test results and assist with corrective actions when issues arise
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, root cause investigations, and quality improvement initiatives
• Assist with customer return investigations, non-conformances, and preventative actions
• Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Production, and Manufacturing teams on product development and process improvements
• Collect, record, and maintain manufacturing and quality data
• Create and update KPI charts, graphs, and production metrics
• Help identify discrepancies within labor hours, procedures, and Bills of Materials

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, production, technician, or related environment
• Experience with assembly, troubleshooting, testing, or quality inspection activities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to read and follow prints, diagrams, and work instructions
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation

Preferred:

• Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, or related field
• Trade School certification
• Experience with:
  • Electronics assembly
  • Mechanical assembly
  • Product testing
  • Quality Assurance / Quality Control
  • Prototype or R&D environments
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopewell Junction, NY.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
