Qualifications As set forth in Rapides Parish Standards Be at least 20 years of age Reports To Supervisor of Transportation Supervises Students Job Goal To assist the bus operator to provide a safe, comfortable ride for handicapped students. Term Nine (9) months Salary Bus Attendant Salary Schedule Performance Responsibilities Be on the school bus at all times during the bus route, except as authorized by the Transportation Department Occupy a seat on the bus where student riders can easily be assisted Ensure that required protective safety devices are in use and are fastened properly. (In instances when an attendant is not available, this shall be the responsibility of the bus driver) Assist such students on and off the bus at school, at designated bus stops, and otherwise when it is necessary for their safe entrance and exit from the bus.
