Position Summary
The Vice President, Finance is a key member of the Company's senior leadership team and is responsible for providing strategic, financial, and operational leadership across the corporate finance and accounting functions. Reporting directly to the President, this position oversees the Company's Controller function, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable teams and plays an important role in driving financial performance, operational discipline, and the long-term growth of the organization.
The role requires an executive who can move comfortably between enterprise-level strategy and the financial realities of individual operations. The Vice President, Finance will be expected to understand not only what the financial results are, but what operational factors are driving them and what actions can improve them.
Compensation
- $200K - $250K Base

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Serve as a key financial advisor to the President and senior leadership team regarding business performance, strategic priorities, investments, growth opportunities, and emerging risks.
- Provide financial leadership in the development and execution of the Company's short- and long-term business plans.
- Translate financial results, trends, and operating data into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations.
- Develop financial models and analyses to support significant business decisions, investments, organizational initiatives, and growth opportunities.
- Provide an enterprise-wide perspective while recognizing the differing financial and operational dynamics of individual locations, regions, and business segments.
- Provide financial leadership and analysis in support of potential acquisitions and other strategic growth opportunities.
- Partner with the President, senior leadership, and external advisors as appropriate in evaluating acquisition opportunities, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, risk assessment, and transaction considerations.
- Support post-acquisition financial integration, including the transition of financial reporting, controls, processes, systems, and performance measurement into the Company's existing operating structure.
- Participate actively as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to broader Company strategy and decisions beyond the traditional finance function.
Multi-Location Financial & Operational Performance
- Provide financial leadership and visibility across a geographically dispersed, multi-location operating organization.
- Partner with regional and location leadership to understand financial performance, identify operational trends, and improve business results.
- Establish meaningful financial reporting Margin Management & Profitability
- Provide leadership and analysis focused on protecting and improving Company margins and overall profitability.
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to understand the drivers of margin performance, including pricing, labor, operating costs, productivity, purchasing, customer mix, and other business factors.
- Identify unfavorable financial trends and work collaboratively with leaders to determine root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
- Develop reporting and analysis that provides leadership with clear visibility into profitability by location, region, business segment, customer, or other meaningful dimensions.
Working Capital, Accounts Receivable & Cash Management
- Provide executive oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring effective processes, controls, service levels, and accountability.
- Establish appropriate strategies and performance expectations related to receivables, collections, aging, credit exposure, and cash conversion.
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to improve collection performance and resolve significant or recurring receivable issues.
Capital Planning & Investment
- Provide financial leadership for the Company's capital planning and investment processes.
- Partner with operational leaders to evaluate proposed investments in facilities, equipment, technology, capacity, and other business initiatives.
- Establish disciplined financial analysis for significant capital requests, including expected returns, payback periods, operational benefits, risks, and strategic value.
Finance & Accounting
- Provide executive leadership and oversight for the Company's corporate finance and accounting activities.
- Oversee the Controller function and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Ensure appropriate accounting policies, financial processes, internal controls, and procedures are established and consistently followed throughout the organization.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Provide executive oversight of the Company's annual financial statement audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and ensuring a timely, efficient, and successful audit engagement.
- Coordinate audit planning, risk assessments, and audit readiness activities across Finance, Accounting, and operational functions to ensure complete and accurate support for audit procedures.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and delivery of audited financial statements, management representations, supporting schedules, and required disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and lead remediation efforts for identified control deficiencies, audit findings, or process improvement opportunities.
Operational Partnership
- Build strong relationships with operational leaders and establish Finance as a valued and practical business partner.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Company's operations, customers, revenue drivers, cost structure, labor model, and competitive environment.
- Spend appropriate time engaging with field operations to understand how financial results are created at the location level.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Maintain a broad understanding of the legal, regulatory, risk, and compliance considerations affecting the Company's financial and business operations.
- Partner effectively with internal and external legal resources and other functional leaders on matters involving financial risk, contracts, insurance, compliance, governance, and related business issues.
Tax Compliance & Strategy
- Provide executive oversight of the Company's federal, state, local, and indirect tax compliance activities, ensuring timely and accurate filings, payments, and adherence to all applicable tax regulations.
- Lead the Company's State and Local Tax (SALT) strategy, including oversight of income, franchise, sales and use, property, and other jurisdiction-specific tax obligations across a multi-location operating environment.
- Establish and monitor processes to identify nexus-creating activities and ensure appropriate business registrations, tax account setups, and ongoing compliance in new and existing jurisdictions.
- Direct tax audit management activities, including examinations by federal, state, and local taxing authorities, coordinating responses, negotiating resolutions, and minimizing financial and operational risk.
- Ensure adequate tax controls, documentation, and governance processes are maintained to support compliance, reduce risk, and promote consistency across all operating locations.
- Provide leadership with meaningful analysis regarding tax exposure, legislative developments, audit trends, and opportunities for tax efficiency and risk reduction.
Organizational Leadership
- Lead, develop, and strengthen the finance organization, including leaders and team members within Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards across the finance function.
- Develop talent and succession capabilities within the department while creating opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline required.
- Advanced degree, CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressive finance leadership experience, with demonstrated responsibility for leading significant finance and/or accounting functions.
- Public Accounting experience, including exposure to financial statement audits, technical accounting, and internal controls, is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience serving as a member of, or regularly participating with, a senior leadership or executive management team.
- Demonstrated success working within a multi-location, operationally intensive organization; experience in service, manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or a similarly complex operating environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with field or operational leadership to improve financial and business performance.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, internal controls, and financial management.
- Experience with margin and profitability analysis, working capital management, accounts receivable, cash flow, and capital investment analysis.
- Previous exposure to mergers and acquisitions from a finance perspective, including experience with one or more aspects of financial due diligence, valuation, transaction analysis, deal support, or post‑acquisition integration. Extensive transaction experience is not required.
- Experience leading and developing finance and accounting professionals.
- Working knowledge of and exposure to legal, risk management, compliance, governance, and related business matters.
