Claudette is a polished French brasserie on lower Fifth Avenue, inspired by the countryside charm of Provence that has served a sophisticated Greenwich Village audience since 2014.

After a closing in August 2024 for essential building repairs, Claudette reopened in June with a renovated dining room, a new menu, and the same commitment to neighborly hospitality that established Claudette as a neighborhood favorite for over a decade.

Chef Igor Almeida Cabral helms the kitchen following ten years with Ducasse at restaurants including La Bastide de Moustiers, Jules Vernes, and Benoit, and two years with Gerald Passedat at Le Petit Nice. Chef Cabral has developed a deeply personal menu that celebrates the flavors of Provence in New York.

Summary of Position:
The Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising the day to day operations at the restaurant including production of food at all stations, assisting the cooks when needed, as well as supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of food cost and labor cost control. He/she should have accurate knife skills, the ability to read and follow recipes, train employees, and maintain health department, food quality, and company standards.


Requirements:
-Open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as requested
-At least 5 years cooking in a high-volume kitchen, with at least 1 of those years in a management or supervisory role
-Experience with Word, Excel spreadsheets, Google Suite (sheets, docs, gmail, etc) and working with POS systems, R365, and other technology is required
-Self-motivated, inspiring, positive attitude and eager for growth
-Spanish speaking a plus!
