Electrician Position at Steffes

Position Summary: This role will provide a full range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to: installation of electrical wiring systems and control systems for oilfield control and power systems manufactured at the Steffes facility. Occasional field visits may also be required for maintaining and repairing Steffes products that are in service in the field and/or to collect customer feedback for future projects. This job description outlines the general responsibilities and requirements for Electricians at Steffes, categorized by certification level in accordance with North Dakota State Electrical Board (NDSEB) standards. Electricians may progress through the Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master levels, each with defined scopes of work and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Always maintains a culture of safety in the workplace and follows Steffes safety procedures. 2. Builds, tests, and documents installations of both basic and advanced electrical and control systems. 3. Conduct work in accordance with relevant codes, customer specifications, and Steffes specifications. 4. Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems. 5. Participate in the continuous improvement of Steffes products and processes. 6. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management. 7. Helps the company meet its Strategic, Quality, and Safety objectives. 8. Other duties may be assigned.

Apprentice Foundational Responsibilities: 1. Licensure Status: Registered apprentice (not licensed to work independently). 2. Work Supervision: Must be directly supervised by a licensed Journeyman or Master. 3. Scope of Work: Assists with basic wiring, installation, and material handling. 4. Independence: Cannot work independently. 5. Blueprint/Schematic Interpretation: Not responsible for interpreting blueprints or schematics. 6. System Termination & Testing: Supports but does not independently perform. 7. Supervision of Others: Cannot supervise; must comply with 3:1 apprentice-to-journeyman ratio. 8. Permit Sign-Off & Inspections: Not authorized. 9. Regulatory Compliance: Must follow NDSEB safety/code rules under supervision.

Electrician Apprentice: Years of Experience : 1+ Minimum Certifications: Apprentice Electrician Status in the State of ND Functional & Cognitive Requirements: • This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree. • Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds. • Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs. • Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending. • Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities. • Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed. • This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.

Qualifications

Skills: Required Registered Apprenticeship Program Required Combination of Electrical Cert and/or Exp. Computer Knowledge (Windows, Email, Internet) Communication - Written & Verbal Or a Combination of Skills & Education Mathematical Skills Previous Oilfield Experience and Knowledge Reading Skills

Education: Required High School or GED or better in High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
