Title: Adjunct Instructor, Mathematics Area: College of Arts and Sciences Department: Mathematics Telework Availability: On-campus Position Employee Classification: Adjunct Months per year: 4.5 Salary Range: w/o Terminal degree: $1,485/credit; w/Terminal degree: $1,686/credit. Job Purpose The Mathematics Department at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA invites applications for an adjunct position beginning for the Fall 2026 semester. We seek well-qualified applicants who can teach a range of lower-division undergraduate Mathematics courses (especially business calculus). Candidates should be committed to pursuing excellence in teaching and to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Essential Functions Teach 3-6 credit hours of courses in the Fall 2026 semester. Hold office hours (amount determined in consultation with Department Chair). Create and grade exams and assignments, including submitting grades according to established deadlines. Minimum Qualifications M.A. (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Statistics. Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds. Evidence of the ability to use effective classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance learning, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Statistics.
