Job Summary:

The Shipping Clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

Job Level:

Entry Level

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Use shipping software and automation equipment.
• Stack products on pallets correctly.
• Prepare, match, and verify shipping information and manifest accurately.
• Assist with stretch wrapping, loading trucks, and all other tasks directed by Supervisor.
• Adhere to customer shipping guidelines and the preparation of shipping information and manifest.
• Adhere to strict Shimano’s 5S Principles.

Job Qualifications:

• Experience working in a warehouse/distribution center preferred.
• Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced warehouse environment focusing on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints is required.
• Must be able to stretch wrap product on pallets properly.
• Ability to use shipping software and automation equipment and perform a task in accordance with Shimano’s standard operating procedures and customer guidelines.
• Must meet and maintain performance standards set by the company.
• Good attitude and take initiative. Takes pride in their work environment and embraces 5S principles
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environment:

• Approximately 100% of the time performing job duties is spent indoors in a warehouse with limited heating or air conditioning.
• Approximately 75% of the time is spent on the computer.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The temperature of the work environment can be equal to the outside temperatures of the area.

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally lift from overhead or below the waist.
• Occasionally bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl and kneel.
• Frequently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stand and walk; grasp with hands and fingers; and lift (up to 50 lbs.).
• Continuously sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Machines, Tools and Equipment

• Continuously use copier, fax, printers, and 10-key calculator.
• Continuously use writing instruments, computer and telephone.
