AVP, Reinsurance Placement - Alternative Ventures & Specialty Finance Posted: Mar 2, 2026 | Salary: $154K - $290K Position Summary As the AVP, Reinsurance Placement – Alternative Ventures & Specialty Finance, you will set the strategic direction for risk transfer across a complex and evolving portfolio. You will lead the design and execution of reinsurance, retrocession, and international strategies aligned to enterprise objectives, overseeing end‑to‑end placement from market engagement through negotiation and execution. You will collaborate as a trusted partner with brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders, providing analytical and structural insight into emerging risk transfer needs and complex enterprise transactions. Key Responsibilities Lead strategy, design, and execution of risk transfer placements for the Alternative Ventures and Specialty Finance portfolio. Develop reinsurance, retrocession, and international strategies aligned with enterprise goals. Oversee end‑to‑end placement execution, including negotiation, market submissions, documentation, and coordination. Serve as primary liaison with key reinsurance partners and brokers, strengthening strategic relationships. Provide analytical and structural insight into emerging reinsurance and retrocession needs. Ensure adherence to internal controls, documentation standards, and reinsurance guidelines. Support enterprise transactions requiring specialized structuring and risk analysis, interpreting modeling output and financial impacts. Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering capability development and high performance. Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and placement practices, applying AI on contract review and management. Establish and drive functional area vision, strategy, and objectives, and oversee associate management – performance, talent, engagement, salary planning, administration, and resource demand. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Reporting Relationships Reports to: VP, Reinsurance and Corporate Risk Management. Leads a team of professionals. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or another quantitative field. Advanced degree (MBA) strongly preferred. License/Certification: Pursuit or attainment of related designations such as CPCU is preferred. Experience: Ten or more years of reinsurance or related experience; strong background in reinsurance, programs, MGAs, retrocession, international direct and assumed business, and insurance‑linked securities preferred. Knowledge, Abilities & Skills: Proven experience leading high‑complexity negotiation and market engagement; familiarity with structured, international, and alternative risk transfer solutions; strong data‑driven decision‑making; ability to lead through influence in cross‑enterprise settings.
