Funeral Attendant (part-time)

Job Overview Our associates celebrate lives and support families during funeral services. This support role performs a variety of manual and office tasks, such as setting up rooms for ceremonies, preparing the deceased, greeting visitors, and assisting with the cleanup of company property, to ensure services run smoothly and as planned. Responsibilities Prepare casket and deceased for visitation or funeral services, including dressing, adjusting clothing and jewelry, and transporting the casket through hallways. Assist with lifting deceased when required. Set up and clean rooms for services, including chairs, tables, icons, guest books, flowers, keepsakes, and urns. Greet visitors, provide programs, answer questions, and deliver funeral services information. May serve as pallbearer. Drive families to cemetery sites. Remove, clean, and store company property; package, load, or deliver family mementos, keepsakes, and flowers. Answer phones courteously, screen callers, and take first‑call information. Notify staff of arriving appointments and escort guests to appropriate rooms. Maintain reception area, refreshments, coffee, trash, supplies, and perform cleaning tasks. Review documents for accuracy and enter data into proprietary systems. Receive deliveries, make copies, scan, fax, fold/prepare memorial materials, and perform other mailroom tasks. Transport, pick up, and deliver documents, family mementos, flowers, and similar articles safely to destinations such as family residences, care centers, or funeral homes. Wash, vacuum, and clean vehicles; fuel vehicles and follow safety guidelines. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid state‑issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. No prior work experience required; funeral industry experience preferred. Ability to follow instructions given over the phone or in person. Ability to use a personal computer and type. Ability to work and communicate effectively with others. Ability to work with kindness and compassion for the deceased and their families. Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work with colleagues to accomplish tasks. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 200 pounds. Work Conditions Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions. Professional dress is required when in contact with families. Drive company‑owned vehicles with and without passengers in surrounding communities. Frequent, continuous periods of standing (up to 6 hours per day). Climb stairs frequently. Perform manual tasks, including lifting, moving, and handling paperwork and electronics. Work beyond standard hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Compensation and Location Salary: $.00/hr. Part‑time associates working an average 20 hours a week may be eligible for 401(k).
