Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a night shift nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Care for post-operative patients including total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries, and bariatric patients
• Manage surgical drains including hemovacs and JP drains, as well as colostomy care
• Administer and monitor set-rate drips such as heparin, PCA pumps, and TPN as needed
• Participate in bedside shift report and support early ambulation protocols for post-operative patients
• Float to medical and telemetry units as needed, managing medical patients in those areas

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work night shifts (1900–0730) with every other weekend availability
• Willingness to float to medical and telemetry units as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior surgical or post-operative nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with early ambulation protocols
• Travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers will be considered
