Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.What You Will Experience In This Position:Review customer-provided information to identify factors affecting product design.Perform necessary calculations to ensure dimensions, tolerances and other specifications are accurate as represented; notify customer of any discrepancies.Apply knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, etc., in developing designs.Consult other departments as needed to ensure integrity and manufacturability.Define, verify, and update bill of material requirements as drawings are developed.Ensure accuracy of work by checking dimensions, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and of various parts to the entire project.Notify appropriate personnel when other activities are ready to be performed during the design process (material updates, design checks, obtaining load calculation certifications, etc.)Submit preliminary and approval drawing packages to customers for review; make changes as needed.Submit final (certified) drawing package to customer.Submit fabrication drawings to manufacturing and monitor throughout the manufacturing process.You Have:Two-year technical degree in drafting and designProficiency with AutoCAD drafting software and with 3-D modeling software (AutoCAD Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar)Thorough knowledge of electro-mechanical product design drafting practicesAbility to accurately and independently generate complex designs and assembliesSolid performance on pre-employment skills testingIdeally 5+ years of electro-mechanical product design experienceWe Have:A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
