Specialized Behavioral Personal Assistant – San Fernando, CA Position: Specialized Behavioral Personal Assistant – hours: Woodland Hills day hours, Korean Town evening, overnight and weekends. $800 sign‑on bonus for evening and weekend shifts. College students in Child Development, Special Education, Psychology, or Applied Behavior Analysis; classroom assistants; DSP professionals; and behavioral interventionists are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Provides specialized behavioral respite services. Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties. Collaborate with clients and families for best care opportunities. Follow behavior support plan. Maintain data via summation notes and any data collection implemented by behavior service agency. Maintain client records in accordance with state, federal and regional center regulations. The main job duty is to work with and implement behavior support plans to assist individuals with behavior challenges such as aggressive or refusal behavior while providing assistance to their circle of support. This position is NOT allowed to perform housekeeping duties, medical care such as giving medication or taking pulse checks, or prepare meals. Some clients may need assistance with toileting or bathing; staff may heat items in a microwave. Qualifications At least 6 months experience working with persons with developmental disabilities. High school diploma and completion of 30 hours of competency-based training designed by a BCBA, or an associate’s degree in human, social or educational services discipline, or a degree or certification related to behavior management from an accredited community college or educational institution. Compassionate and caring demeanor. Ability to build rapport with clients. Strong desire to engage clients in age‑appropriate activities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. CPR and first‑aid certification. Current TB testing. Background check upon hire. Valid California driver’s license and auto insurance. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Physical Demands Full physical dexterity and agility to perform required movements such as bending, kneeling, typing, etc. Sufficient vision to carry out duties. Ability to lift and carry pediatric clients weighing 5 to 50 lbs. Employment Type Full-time and part-time. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $18 to $25 per hour, dependent on experience, education and certification. Educational support for those pursuing RBT, BCBA and mental health fields.
