Overview:

The Payroll Assistant assists in processing payroll and maintaining accurate employee data records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Processes new hire paperwork and employee data changes in the payroll system.

·         Process time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records.

·         Entering start and end times onto the payroll software.

·         Managing electronic timekeeping systems or manually collecting and reviewing timesheets.

·         Maintains accurate and up-to-date data on new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, and other employee information.

·         Assists Payroll Administrator in auditing employees and payroll data to ensure accurate transactions.

·         Escalates complex payroll questions or concerns to Payroll Administrator or management.

·         Maintains confidentiality of payroll and employee records.

·         Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll-related matters

·         Capturing approved annual and sick leave.

·         Preparing and distributing hard copy or electronic paychecks.

·         Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures

·         Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees

·         Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

·         High School diploma or equivalent.

·         Prior data/records management experience

·         High degree of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail

·         Team oriented.

·         Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) familiarity.

·         Ability to complete data entry at moderate speed
