Marketing Team Leader - Fixed-Term

Job Title: Marketing Team Leader – Fixed‑Term Team. Location: Telluride, CO. Contract Duration: 6 Months. Scope: Customer Service (In‑Person, CF3). Reports To: Retail Store General Manager. Benefit plans may vary slightly depending on the nature of your employment. Responsibilities Customer Service – Deliver best‑in‑class service by centering the customer in everything we do. Ensure Customer Experience Guides have access to all tools and resources. Marketing – Plan and execute events, manage Instagram, send monthly newsletters, educate team on brand campaigns. Collaborate with the Activism Team Leader and Retail Marketing Team to meet seasonal marketing/event priorities. Leadership – Drive engagement, coach and delegate daily priorities, collaborate with other leaders to address team needs. Training & Hiring – Assist in hiring employees aligned with Patagonia’s philosophy, train new hires, provide coaching and feedback. Development – Use independent judgment to coach team on communication and ownership skills, support a steady feedback loop, advise management on discipline and recognition. Product & Business Knowledge – Commit to learning technical aspects of core sports products, seek new product information, incorporate into customer service. Warehouse – Process shipments, support inventory, restock the sales floor, manage returns and sales accurately under the Ironclad Guarantee and Worn Wear Program. Visual – Maintain visual store standards, fold, hang, buff, and dress mannequins, stock the floor, communicate directives from Visual and store leadership. Security & Loss Prevention – Practice and support team members in security measures, handle safety situations, report concerns quickly. Inclusion – Create a supportive, respectful, and harassment‑free environment, engage in company directives, drive accountability. Other Duties – Ensure accuracy in all POS operations, complete register and scenario training for self and team, consistently execute duties of a Customer Experience Guide. Qualifications Experience leading a retail team or supervising others. Strong community outreach and public program implementation skills. Approachable, engaging leadership presence with ability to prioritize, delegate, and hold team accountable. Teaching, coaching, or training experience with a focus on constructive feedback. Proactive organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. Time management and ability to handle deadlines and communication cross‑functionally. Adaptability to changing situations and priorities while maintaining a positive workplace morale. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Technical learning aptitude – able to onboard new systems swiftly and teach others. Problem‑solving skills with a courteous, innovative approach. Emotional intelligence – recognize and influence emotions of others, provide consistency in performance and demeanor. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry products necessary for customer service, inventory stocking, events, and store merchandising. Able to walk up and down a staircase carrying boxes and other items, safely lift up to 55 pounds, and climb ladders. Schedule Open to 30–39 hours with full availability, including at least one weekend day. Spin shifts may begin and end up to two hours before and after business hours (10am–6pm). Team Leaders must support opening and closing duties, accommodate break times, and be available outside store hours as needed.
