Registered Nurse - Trauma/Neuro Unit - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shift (18:45 - 07:15) with required every other weekend commitment.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in this role will deliver high-quality care to patients in a Level I and II trauma unit. Responsibilities will include management of complex patient needs, administration of medications and treatments, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage IV drips, including heparin and blood products.
• Provide comprehensive care for patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, and orthopedic trauma.
• Perform assessments and develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitor vital signs and manage dysrhythmias and oxygen protocols.
• Implement isolation precautions and manage patient expectations in high-pressure scenarios.
• Document care accurately using Epic software.
• Collaborate with a diverse team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and other support personnel.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the last 5 years in a similar setting.
• Experience with Epic documentation software.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in managing traumas and acute care situations is essential.
