Position Overview

Our organization is looking for a full-time faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to join the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. The salary for this role will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Join the Pediatric Cardiology Division within the Department of Pediatrics, which includes a diverse team of 13 cardiologists with various clinical specialties.
• Share clinical responsibilities for inpatient and outpatient care, particularly in heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.
• Participate in general pediatric cardiology services and specialized clinics focused on heart failure, transplantation, and cardiomyopathy.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team, including 2 nurse practitioners and 2 congenital heart surgeons, known for their exceptional outcomes in congenital heart disease surgeries.
• Engage in the Virginia Congenital Cardiac Consortium, directing complex cases to our Children's Hospital.
• Contribute to a program that averages 10 pediatric cardiac transplants annually and manages mechanical circulatory devices.

Qualifications

• Must possess an MD or DO and hold board certification in Pediatric Cardiology.
• Completion of an additional year of formal training in advanced heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support is required.
• Must meet the criteria to be recognized as a transplant physician by UNOS.
• Experience at a leading institution with a robust congenital heart surgery and transplant program is highly preferred.
