Urology Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist (Yarmouth Port, MA)

Location: Yarmouth Port, MA · Full-Time, In Person (office only) · Hours: Mon–Thu 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Fri 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Urology Associates of Cape Cod is seeking a Registered Sonographer to perform in-office urologic ultrasound and to support our prostate biopsy program, including MRI-fusion prostate biopsy. You will work directly alongside our urologists and Advanced Practice Providers in a focused, high-volume specialty setting. This is an office-only role: no hospital call, no nights, no weekends. Training on our MRI-fusion biopsy system is provided.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform and document diagnostic urologic ultrasound: limited and complete renal/bladder ultrasound, scrotal ultrasound with color Doppler, transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) of the prostate with volume measurement, and post-void residual (bladder scan) studies.
• Support transrectal and transperineal prostate biopsies, including MRI–ultrasound fusion biopsy: patient preparation and positioning, system setup and MRI target loading, real-time imaging guidance for the physician, and specimen handling and labeling.
• Optimize image quality, follow practice protocols, and record measurements and preliminary findings for physician interpretation in eClinicalWorks (eCW).
• Explain each study to patients, obtain consent for procedures as directed, and maintain patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout.
• Clean, disinfect, and perform routine quality checks on ultrasound and biopsy equipment; track probe reprocessing and maintain supply levels.
• Coordinate with schedulers, Medical Assistants, and physicians so ultrasound and biopsy slots run on time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• ARDMS registration (RDMS – Abdomen preferred) or ARRT (Sonography); registry-eligible candidates with strong experience will be considered.
• Experience with renal, scrotal, and prostate imaging preferred; MRI-fusion biopsy experience is a plus, not a requirement – we will train you.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong attention to detail, calm and reassuring with patients, and comfortable assisting with procedures.
