Electrical Engineer I (Data Centers)

About the PositionAs a mid-level Electrical Engineer in the Data Center group, you will be responsible for performing engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting client projects and providing a quality deliverable that is on time and within the defined budget.Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000 / yearThe salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerforms detailed design on all aspects of substation electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project schedulingPrepares computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies. Employee should create simple hand checks to quantify the computer aided resultsDevelops protective relay settings.Prepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studiesProvides field assistance and troubleshootingChecks the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as requiredUnderstands the applications of relevant Codes and StandardsAssists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetingsOther duties as assignedMust HaveEducation: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferredExperience: 1 – 5 years of relevant engineering or field experienceLicensure: FE, PE is a plus, but not requiredKnowledge and familiarity with substation electrical designExperience with AutoCAD is a plusPossesses effective written and oral communications skillsGood interpersonal and people skillsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisWorking ConditionsWork Environment:Work is performed in an office setting and some field work may be requiredTravel:Typical: 5 – 10%Physical Activities:Must be able to lift 25lbs.About NEI Electric Power EngineeringServing Others.
