Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab Center Job Title: Hair Stylist – Skilled Nursing Facility Location: Overland Park, Kansas Employment Type: PRN- approximately 8 hours/week Position Summary The Hair Stylist provides professional hair care services to residents in a skilled nursing facility, promoting dignity, self-esteem, and overall well-being. This role requires sensitivity to the needs of elderly and medically fragile individuals while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Key Responsibilities Provide hair care services including shampooing, cutting, styling, and basic chemical treatments (per facility policy) Offer bedside or in-room services for residents with limited mobility Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized salon/work area in accordance with state regulations Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff Monitor scalp and skin conditions and report concerns to nursing staff Manage appointments and maintain service records as required Handle payments or coordinate billing per facility procedures Ensure tools and equipment are properly disinfected between clients Qualifications Current Kansas Cosmetology License (required) Previous experience in a salon, healthcare, or senior care setting preferred Knowledge of sanitation and infection control practices Ability to work with elderly, disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals Strong interpersonal and communication skills Patience, compassion, and professionalism Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to assist or position residents safely (may require light lifting) Manual dexterity to perform styling tasks Work Environment Skilled nursing facility with on-site salon or mobile service setup Interaction with residents who may have chronic illnesses, dementia, or mobility limitations Collaboration with nursing and administrative staff Additional Requirements Background check and possible TB test or health screening (per Kansas healthcare regulations) Compliance with OSHA and facility safety standards Preferred Skills Experience with adaptive equipment or bedside care Familiarity with geriatric hair and scalp conditions Flexible scheduling and reliability #J-18808-Ljbffr Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab Center
