Chisago Lakes School District 2144 is currently seeking applicants for the position of Food Service Assistant. Position: Food Service Assistant Location: Middle School Work Schedule: 9:15 am - 1:15 pm, Monday - Friday Salary Range: Step F - Step N/ $20.80 - $23.50 + potential extra compensation based on Level School Nutrition Association Certification License: Not Applicable Benefits: This position is not benefit eligible Contract

Qualifications: 1. High school diploma or GED preferred. 2. Prior food service experience is desirable, but not required. 3. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 4. Basic knowledge of food handling and safety, preferred. 5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 6. Ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute to a positive team environment. 7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goal/Summary: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth. The Food Service Assistant is responsible for supporting the preparation, serving, and clean-up of school meals in a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring students receive nutritious, appealing meals while following district procedures and food safety guidelines.

Performance Responsibilities: 1. Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast and/or lunch according to established menus and portion sizes 2. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas, including kitchen equipment, serving lines, and dishwashing areas. 3. Follow food safety procedures, including proper storage, temperature monitoring, and hygiene practices. 4. Operate kitchen equipment like ovens, warmers, dishwashers, etc. safely and correctly. 5. Set up and restock serving lines, condiments, etc. as needed throughout meal periods. 6. Wash dishes, trays, and utensils as instructed using commercial dishwashing equipment and procedures. 7. Help receive and store food and supply deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy. 8. Provide friendly, respectful customer service to students, staff, and coworkers. 9. Assist with end-of-day clean-up and preparation for the next service day. 10. Support other food service team members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations. 11. Perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for long periods, and frequent bending, reaching and repetitive motions. 12. Uphold data privacy and confidentiality regulations. 13. In case of emergency or other circumstances, may be sent to any building as needed per Food Service Director. 14. Learn and operate Point of Sale system as needed and complete other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of noncertified personnel.
