Learn more at .Overview:The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, based in Horsham, PA, will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of complex wafer processing equipment involving wet processing technologies used in the manufacturing of advanced semiconductors, LEDs, displays, photonics, VCSELs, power electronics, compound semiconductors, hard disk drives, MEMS and wireless chips. This is a key member of the Engineered to Order (ETO) team. The engineer will work closely with engineering leadership, cross functional engineering team members, and manufacturing operations. This role involves overall system design, automation, gas and fluid delivery.Responsibilities:Lead product development projects of wet processing technologies, with responsibility for all mechanical design aspects of the equipment, subassemblies, and componentsProvide mechanical engineering expertise, while focusing on design quality, reliability, effective cost, and ease of manufacturingPerform analytical studies and theoretical calculations, requiring a variety of engineering knowledge, including analysis of vessels, heat transfer, material structural analysis, static and dynamic, fluids, motion mechanismsDefine mechanical design specifications based on customer requirements and company capabilitiesEnsure that manufacturing processes are compliant with standard design practices and safety codes; ensure appropriate tests are in place to produce reliable products in a repeatable mannerPrepare presentations and present design concepts, ideas, and test results to internal and external customersProvide expertise in mechanical engineering while participating in design reviewsSupport procurement efforts in correlation with overall project deadlinesProvide “hands on” assistance and support to the manufacturing teamDevelop test plans and design of experiments and is directly involved in prototype development and testingCreate and release engineering documentation through the ECO processSupport Program Management with project flow through the Product Life Cycle (PLC) Phase gates.Understand and adhere to various industry standardsQualifications: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience designing or manufacturing capital equipment, subassemblies and components, or an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6 years of experience is required. MS degree preferred. Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD systems is required as is experience with SAP, or similar PLM system. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team, able to take initiative, own full projects, and/or lead a small project teamExperience with Finite element analysis, both structural and thermalGeneral knowledge of electrical and software engineering disciplinesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of technological complexityExcellent oral and written communication skills, including specification development; ability to make technical presentations and interface with all levels of management, suppliers, and customersKnowledge of industrial control systems, sensors, automation, robotics, instrumentation, motion control, motor selection, encoders, electronic packaging, SEMI regulatory standards is a plusProject management experience is a plusMust be hands-on with devices, prototyping, and troubleshootingProficient with Microsoft Office suiteAbility to travel up to 10% of the time to customer sites and/or supplier facilities on an as-needed basis#LI-KB1Salary and BenefitsThe expected salary range for this position is $114,000-$167,000, plus a bonus opportunity.
