Candidates will be required to pass a telemetry competency exam, which includes identifying and measuring rhythm strips. Failure to pass the exam will result in contract termination.Unit DescriptionThe patient population includes the treatment of congestive heart failure, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMIs, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Covid, and care of post-procedure patients, including pacemakers, ablations, catheter lab procedures, and patients downgraded from intensive care. Medications include non-titratable cardiac medication drips (e.g., Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro). The role may involve floating to Intensive Care Units for telemetry or medically appropriate assignments as well as medical-surgical units.Job ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the nursing process. Key responsibilities include:Providing comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families/caregivers.Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients.Coordinating care with other healthcare professionals as needed.Dedicating mental effort to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.Additional InformationTravelers may be required to float to different units based on the organization's needs, up to their competency level. Mandatory requirements may include working major holidays and picking up one additional shift during the scheduling period. The organization reserves the right to call off personnel for low census following the contract terms, which may include full or partial shifts. Schedules can vary based on departmental needs and may include weekends, holidays, and some on-call shifts.Hospital InformationThis position is within a busy and fast-paced environment serving a vast geographical area. The facility holds Level II Trauma Center status and is Stroke accredited, with an extensive capacity of 800 inpatient beds. The pace and volume of work are indicative of a Level I trauma center.
