Assistant Project Manager

Compensation: $90,000–$130,000 base

Location: Based out of our New York City or South Florida office. Full-time, hybrid: up to two days a week working from home; the other days are in the office or on project sites.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of planning and scheduling services on complex construction projects. This is a hands-on role focused on overseeing schedule development, updates, and coordination with project teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with senior staff, contributing to schedule integrity, progress reporting, and overall project success.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion from a scheduling standpoint.

• Apply digital tools and platforms to review, adjust, and maintain accurate project schedules.

• Provide progress updates and create monthly reports accordingly for client delivery.

• Support field teams with sequencing, logistics, and problem-solving.

• Lead project kickoff meetings and provide regular project status updates.

• Manage personal deliverables and deadlines in an organized and efficient manner.

• Review and interpret construction drawings and project documentation.

• Assist where needed in creating baseline schedules and integrating cost/resource data.

• Facilitate coordination meetings with contractors and develop comprehensive baseline schedules leveraging modern scheduling technology.

• Execute monthly status updates, including data collection, analysis, milestone tracking, and presentation of schedule performance.

• Maintain consistent, clear communication and coordinate required schedule adjustments with contractors and key project partners.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years' experience in a similar role.

• Background in construction management or civil/construction engineering is strongly preferred.

• Advanced ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and sequencing details.

• Comfortable interacting with project teams and walking construction sites for coordination purposes.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain scheduling concepts to non-technical audiences.

• A candidate who is eager to learn, takes direction well, and is willing to go above and beyond.

• Adaptable and coachable — open to rethinking conventional approaches and embracing new scheduling protocols.
