Position Overview Guzman Energy is seeking a hands‑on IT Manager to own the day‑to‑day operations of our IT group. This is a player‑coach role: you will lead and develop the IT support function while remaining deeply involved in the systems, networks, devices, and security tooling that keep an ~80‑person organization running reliably. You will be the go‑to leader for systems administration, network administration, asset management, and cybersecurity operations—ensuring our people have the technology they need and that our environment stays secure, available, and well‑governed. The ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a small, fast‑moving company where IT touches every part of the business. Key Responsibilities Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the IT group, setting priorities, response standards, and service levels for end‑user support across the organization Lead, mentor, and develop IT support staff; manage ticket queues, escalations, and on‑call coverage for after‑hours and weekend issues Administer and maintain network infrastructure built on the Cisco family of products (routing, switching, wireless, firewalls/security appliances, and VPN) Own all aspects of systems administration, including server, virtualization, and endpoint environments—provisioning, patching, monitoring, and performance Administer the Microsoft 365 environment and Microsoft Entra ID, including identity and access management, single sign‑on, multi‑factor authentication, conditional access, and licensing Manage endpoint/device lifecycle and mobile device management (e.g., Microsoft Intune), including imaging, configuration, and secure provisioning Own IT asset management—hardware and software inventory, license tracking, procurement, warranty/lifecycle planning, and disposal Operate and tune cybersecurity tools (endpoint detection & response, email security, vulnerability scanning, and related controls) and lead incident response and remediation Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes, including regular testing and documentation Manage patch and vulnerability management programs across systems, network, and endpoints Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring timely, secure provisioning and de‑provisioning of accounts, access, and equipment Manage IT vendors, contracts, renewals, and the IT operating budget; recommend and justify technology purchases Develop and maintain IT documentation, standard operating procedures, and policies; support audit, compliance, and security awareness/training initiatives Partner with leadership and business stakeholders to align IT operations with company needs and growth, including expansion into new markets Required Qualifications 5–7 years of progressive experience in IT operations, systems/network administration, or IT infrastructure, including at least some experience leading people or functions Demonstrated hands‑on expertise across the Cisco family of products (routing, switching, wireless, and security/firewall appliances) Strong command of all core areas of systems administration and network administration in a production business environment Expertise administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID, including identity, access, authentication, and conditional access Proven experience with endpoint management, IT asset management, and cybersecurity tooling (EDR, email security, vulnerability management, and related controls) Solid understanding of backup, disaster recovery, patch management, and incident response practices Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for non‑technical stakeholders Willingness to work in‑office in Denver and to respond to after‑hours issues as needed in a small‑company environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in the energy sector, commodities trading, or another data‑intensive or regulated industry Relevant certifications such as Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Microsoft (e.g., MS‑102, AZ‑104, SC‑300), or CompTIA (Network+, Security+) Experience with Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint/device management Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or AWS) and hybrid identity environments Experience supporting audit, compliance, or cybersecurity framework requirements (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls, SOC2) Experience managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and technology procurement What the Guz Offers Competitive base salary: $140,000–$160,000 commensurate with experience Performance‑based bonus opportunity Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Unlimited PTO policy Parking or RTD pass subsidy Complimentary gym membership in building This position is based in our Denver office with an in‑person work requirement.
