Senior Project Engineer – Electrical / Transportation Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles, CA, supporting major transportation and infrastructure projects, including high-profile initiatives such as the L.A. Metro Purple Line Extension.

This role provides an exceptional opportunity to work on large-scale, complex projects with one of the nation's most respected construction teams. The Senior Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in coordinating project execution, managing documentation, maintaining cost controls, and supporting schedule performance. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that project objectives related to budget, quality, and safety are achieved while maintaining clear communication between the field, clients, and project management.

Key responsibilities include managing and processing change proposals, change orders, and owner payment applications; tracking job costs, preparing quantity and labor cost reports, and supporting quarterly profit analysis; coordinating and leading the project closeout process, ensuring all documentation and deliverables are completed accurately; researching and proposing quality control solutions; verifying field work for compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes; supporting project leadership in planning, scheduling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders; collaborating closely with field operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution; and assisting with document control, cost tracking, and subcontractor coordination.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; minimum 10+ years of construction industry experience; background in electrical contracting or transportation/mass transit projects preferred; experience in traffic signal systems or street lighting projects is a plus; strong understanding of contracting principles, cost control, and scheduling methodologies; excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills; and a results-oriented, business-minded approach with a focus on team performance and client satisfaction.
