Commercial HVAC/R Field Service Specialist — Columbus, OH
Picture your Monday: you review the day’s route across commercial sites in Columbus, OH, load up the parts you sourced the night before, and head out. Your first stop is a rooftop unit with intermittent faults—you dig into schematics, trace wiring, isolate the issue, and get the system humming. A quick call to the customer to explain the repair, thorough documentation in the work order, and you’re off to the next site to fine-tune a refrigeration loop. When an unexpected service call comes in, you’re the calm, capable pro who can brave any weather and keep critical environments stable.

What you’ll do- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial/industrial HVAC/R systems, communicating clearly with customers and teammates.
- Document all work performed, parts used, and recommendations; respond to urgent calls in varying conditions.
- Evaluate existing layouts of heating and air conditioning equipment to plan procedures and improvements.
- Source and obtain materials and supplies in line with established policies and procedures.
- Service mechanical components: clean, lubricate, or replace shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, and related parts.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using wiring diagrams and schematics.
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance and repair experience.
- Hands-on background diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial/industrial HVAC/R systems.
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and methodical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with HVAC/R systems, heating and air conditioning, and HVAC service & installation.
- Comfort working with HVAC systems and refrigeration/cooling systems.
- $55,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year (based on experience and capability)
