About Us
Webco Machine Tool has been designing and building custom, high-production drilling and tapping machines, machine components, and automation controls since 1976. We're a small, family-run shop — this is a hands-on, close-knit team where your work directly shows up in the machines that ship out our door.
The Role
We're looking for a skilled mechanic to join our shop and work alongside the owner building, assembling, and servicing custom industrial machinery. This is not routine repetitive work — every machine we build is custom to a customer's production needs, so you'll be problem-solving and building specialized equipment, not just following the same steps on an assembly line.
What You'll Do
- Assemble and build custom drilling, tapping, and automation machinery
- Fit, align, and adjust mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
- Troubleshoot and repair machines and components, both in-house and potentially on-site at customer facilities
- Work with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to tight tolerances
- Collaborate directly with the owner on build sequencing and problem-solving
- Help maintain a safe, organized shop
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a mechanic in a machine shop, automotive dealership repair center, or similar mechanical/industrial environment
- Solid hand and power tool skills; experience with mills, lathes, or other machine tools is a strong plus
- Mechanical aptitude with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical/controls basics
- Self-motivated — comfortable working independently as well as alongside a small team
- Reliable and detail-oriented; this is precision work
