About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Charlottesville, Virginia, 22903!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Valid state license required, pending licenses accepted Certifications: BLS preferred, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: The unit consists of 17 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. The unit receives patients from various sources including the emergency department and medical ICU. A wide range of medical diagnoses is treated, including diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, and ESRD with pulmonary hypertension. The nursing team handles wounds, drains, tubes, and other complex medical needs. Scheduling may include 36 or 48 hours per week with every other weekend required. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Time off around holidays may not be approved. Nurses must adhere to the facility's float policy. Candidates can submit with a pending license but must obtain a license before the designated timeframe. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with charting systems, particularly Epic, is required. Experience with community hospitals and LTAC is preferred. Candidates must have skills in various nursing procedures including managing ports, blood product administration, and non-invasive airway management. The unit values interdisciplinary support and quality patient care. Team members participate in daily rounds with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and address quality issues. The work environment fosters growth and development for nursing staff while promoting a culture of respect and cooperation. Nurses are encouraged to pursue continued education and can expect strong clinical support during orientation. The unit tracks performance metrics and strives for process improvements in patient care quality.
