Staff Accountant

What You’ll Own Under direction of the Director of Finance, LoanPro’s Staff Accountant is responsible for recording journal entries, maintaining asset and liability schedules, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and processing tax filings. Assists and supports the timely and accurate month end close, quarterly summary and year end reporting requirements. The Staff Accountant prepares financial reports and analysis as requested by the Director of Finance and provides recommendations for improved processes and internal financial controls. Understand, comply and adhere to GAAP practices, standards, and applications Support the preparation of accurate and informative financial statements, reports, and KPIs for internal and external review Assist and support the accurate and timely month end close Administer and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Perform daily bookkeeping and journal entries as needed Responsible for collection management and the accurate and timely follow up with customers professionally Attention to accurate detail, focus, and time management skills Maintains the general ledger Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of financial, employee, and other sensitive company information Essential Job Functions Take ownership of deep learning about our software, its functions, and how it fulfills our customers’ needs and how they use the product. Work onsite as required; remote work possible at manager’s discretion in accordance with company hybrid policy. Assist with closing the books and management of AR/AP. Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes, including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries/weekly check runs/monthly accruals and special projects. Evaluate workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies. Help Director of Accounting, Director of Finance and CFO with annual audit. Assist in providing schedules and commentary with respect to operating maintenance accounts results and variances, and with production of working capital, cash-flow reports, and applicable commentary. Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation. Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports. Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols, including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation. Create SOP manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures. Monitor and maintain a new audit system by implementing new policies and procedures in the finance department. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain schedules detailing the month-end balances at quarter-end and year-end. Adhere to accounting and finance best practices and all LoanPro policies and procedures. Prepare monthly accruals. Meet internal and external deadlines for all responsibilities. Perform timely monthly bank account reconciliations. Exemplify excellent attention to detail, customer service, and communication skills and demonstrate ability to work well under pressure for extended periods of time. Monitor credit card accounts to ensure expenses are for business purposes and that receipts are uploaded/posted. Maintain the fixed asset ledger and be responsible for monthly depreciation entries. Review expenses monthly to ensure accurate recording and that no fixed assets were accidentally expensed. Assist with annual audits providing schedules/roll forwards as required. Input accounts payable and ensure payments are on-time. Assist with preparation of company payroll for international and domestic employees. Administer reconciliation of employee monthly benefit bills to employee headcount. Assist in maintaining the company master Census. Additional duties as prescribed; duties may change at any time with or without notice. What You’ll Need For Success Minimum 1 year of experience performing related accounting processes. Bachelor’s degree required or relevant combined education and work experience. Proficiency with Microsoft 365/Google products, and ERP systems. Must be able to read and speak clearly in English. Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Ability to communicate professionally both written and verbal.
