Metrology Technician II

Overview JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today’s missions and tomorrow’s global challenges. Responsibilities Independently perform calibration, certification, and repair of electronic and physical/dimensional test measurement diagnostic equipment (TMDE) Ensure traceability to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or equivalent standards Apply measurement science principles to analyze accuracy, precision, and uncertainty Diagnose and repair complex equipment using schematics, diagrams, and software diagnostics Identify and quantify sources of measurement error and uncertainty Interpret and document calibration results, including certificates and correction charts Conduct preventive maintenance inspections for safety, cleanliness, and performance Support continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives Strong foundation in calibration of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and test equipment Knowledge in calibration traceability, metrology techniques, laboratory practices and procedures Experience with calibration methods, measurement analysis, and technical problem-solving Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 17025, ANSI Z540, or USAF standards Ability to perform basic to advanced mathematical computations Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs to include advanced software applications Ability to work independently and manage technical tasks efficiently Perform other job-related duties, as required Desired Qualifications Experience with the USAF Metrology and Calibration Program or equivalent Experience in the Microwave RF section of a calibration laboratory Familiarity with advance RF/microwave test equipment and measurement techniques Military calibration experience Associate degree or technical training in electronics (or equivalent military training) Completion of a metrology training and certification program Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in calibration and repair of electronic test equipment Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics and computer systems Requirements — Education, Technical, And Work Experience Education and/or training in electronics from an accredited college, technical school, or equivalent military training, completion of a metrology training and certification program, and a minimum of three years of direct experience in a metrology position are required for this position. In addition, a Metrology Technician II must possess the following qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics Good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems Good understanding of test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot to the component level and competency in soldering Salary The expected salary range for this position is $84,281.60 to $88,441.60 annually. Working Conditions Employee may be required to work some shift work, at remote locations, and occasional over-night assignments. Work is generally performed indoors. Packing, unpacking, loading and unloading of equipment, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance) are required. Driving a company or government vehicle may be required.
