• Schedule Perk: 4 scheduled days off every week • Shift Differential: +$5.33/hr • Overtime: As needed • Experience Level: Mid (1–3+ years) • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Why This Role Exists Atlas Machine & Supply is expanding its grinding and repair capabilities to support complex industrial components and assemblies. This CNC Grinder role plays a critical part in maintaining tight tolerances, restoring components, and supporting both manufacturing and repair operations in a high-mix environment. The Work You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and NC grinding machines Perform cylindrical, surface, internal, and crankshaft grinding operations Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications Select grinding wheels, fixtures, attachments, and materials Set speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut to meet specifications Perform trial runs and adjust machine settings to verify accuracy Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to tolerances Assist with assembly, teardown, and repair of components Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve grinding challenges Maintain a safe work environment and follow all regulatory requirements Machines, Controls & Equipment You’ll work with: Grinding Machines: Cylindrical grinders, surface grinders, internal grinders, crankshaft grinders Controls: Conventional and NC-controlled equipment Inspection Tools: Micrometers, indicators, precision gauges, and alignment tools Materials You’ll Work With Carbon and alloy steels Stainless steels Metallic and nonmetallic industrial components What We’re Looking For Required: 1–3+ years of grinding or machinist experience Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret sketches Understanding of grinding setups, wheel selection, and tolerances Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Preferred (Not Required): Journeyman Machinist certification Experience with crankshaft or internal grinding Repair or rebuild experience Why Machinists Like Working at Atlas Machinists choose Atlas Machine & Supply because: High shift differential for weekend work Four days off every week on the weekend schedule Diverse grinding and repair work — not repetitive production Strong culture built on ownership, respect, and teamwork Day-one benefits and long-term career stability Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay Range: $25.00 – $42.00/hr (DOE) Shift Differential: +$5.33/hr (Weekend Shift) Benefits (Start Day One): Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and nine paid holidays Parental leave Company-paid life insurance and short/long-term disability Employee assistance program and flexible spending account Schedule: Friday–Sunday 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM Four scheduled days off each week Apply Interested machinists can apply directly through hireCNC. #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlas Machine & Supply
