Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine Physicians for a long-term Emergency Medicine locum tenens opportunity in Riverton, Wyoming .

This is a strong opportunity for physicians who prefer lower-volume community Emergency Medicine and want the stability of a genuinely long-term assignment. The department sees approximately 11,000 annual visits with an estimated 1.5 patients per hour , supported by specialty backup including General Surgery, Anesthesiology, Orthopedics, ENT, and OB/GYN.

The current need is substantial—approximately 12 shifts per month beginning October 16, 2026 , with coverage anticipated for at least six months . The program is already considering physician availability three months in advance , including December and beyond.

For physicians with an active Wyoming license and clean credentialing file , temporary privileges may provide an expedited path to getting started.

Schedule

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
• Coverage available seven days per week
• Approximately 12 shifts per month

Clinical Scope

Physicians should be comfortable independently evaluating, stabilizing, and managing patients presenting to a community Emergency Department.

Clinical responsibilities include:

• Emergency patient evaluation and stabilization
• Acute medical management
• Emergency and traumatic presentations
• Appropriate diagnostic evaluation
• Treatment and disposition
• Coordination of specialty consultation and escalation
• Medhost documentation
• Broad-spectrum community Emergency Medicine

Specialty Backup

Available specialty support includes:

• General Surgery
• Anesthesiology
• Orthopedics
• ENT
• OB/GYN

Physician Requirements

The facility accepts physicians from multiple training backgrounds:

• MD or DO
• Active Wyoming Medical License Required
• Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine training accepted
• Acceptable board certifications include:
  • ABEM
  • AOBEM
  • ABFM
  • ABIM
  • AOBIM
• Board Eligible physicians may be considered within the facility's defined eligibility window
• ACLS Required
• ATLS Required
• BLS Required
• Emergency Medicine experience required
• Comfortable working both day and night Emergency Department coverage

The client indicates that physicians with less than one year of Emergency Medicine experience may be considered , expanding the potential fit beyond career Emergency Medicine physicians.

Credentialing

Because the need is immediate:

• Active Wyoming license is required before credentialing can proceed
• The facility will not release its application while a Wyoming license is pending
• Temporary privileges may be available
• Temp privileges are reserved for appropriately licensed clinicians with clean credentialing files

Physicians who already hold Wyoming licensure and can move quickly through credentialing are particularly valuable for the October start.
