1st Shift Entry Level Mechanical Assembler

Job Title: Mechanical Assembler 1st Shift Job Description The Mechanical Assembler will assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. You will work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to build high-quality products using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. This role focuses on accuracy, safety, and efficiency while supporting production goals and quality standards. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and complete systems according to specifications, blueprints, and work instructions. Use a variety of hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, socket sets, pliers, hex keys, and torque wrenches, to perform precise assembly work. Operate power tools such as electric screwdrivers, drills, impact drivers, grinders, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively. Verify the proper fit, alignment, and functionality of assembled components and systems. Inspect finished assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements. Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues, or assembly discrepancies to the appropriate personnel. Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues during the assembly process. Follow all company safety procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality guidelines at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and equipment. Collaborate with team members and support production schedules and goals by completing tasks on time. Use basic computer skills as needed for work instructions, documentation, or production reporting. Handle and assemble various components such as rivets, screws, and crimped connections as part of the build process. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
