Early Intervention SLP for Infants & Toddlers (In-Home)

Position title: Early Intervention Speech Language Pathologist Type of position: Full Time, Exempt Location: Fairbanks; In-Person Reports to: Therapy Services Supervisor Supserves: None Salary: Grade F; minimum base salary $80,000 (additional compensation available based on licensure, certification, education, and experience). Job summary: Providing specialized services to children birth to age 3 with developmental delays or disabilities. Position conducts assessments, creates Individualized Family Service Plans, and works within home or community settings to foster cognitive, motor, social-emotional, and communication skills through caregiver coaching within the scope of professional license. Qualifications A master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology with current State of Alaska professional license. A minimum of one year’s experience with infants/toddlers or young children. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Job Responsibilities Provide Early Intervention Services with a caseload of children and their families, following ACCA ILP Procedures, ensuring compliance with Part C of IDEA, State and Medicaid regulations and timelines in all aspects of services including but not limited to the following: Conduct intake and developmental screenings and assessments to identify children who qualify for early intervention services. Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) tailored to each child’s unique needs. Work collaboratively with families to set goals and develop strategies to support their child’s development. Educate and support families on how to integrate developmental activities into daily routines through demonstration of family-centered philosophies and respect for cultural diversity utilizing the Core Principles of Early Intervention. Coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Maintain accurate records and documentation of services utilizing an electronic health record and agency forms, to demonstrate provided services and progress made to ensure compliance with field of practice and public and private insurance billing. Conduct home, community, and telehealth visits to provide services in natural environments where children feel most comfortable. Attend and participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings. Advocate for children and families to ensure they receive the services and support they need including transition from ILP services and referrals to outside services. Work as member of ILP Staff to develop and implement goals, objectives and procedures of the Infant Learning Program to ensure compliance with Part C, State and Medicaid regulations. Attend and participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. General ACCA Staff Responsibilities: Maintain essential computer literacy, including proficient use of agency approved technology, platforms, and devices. Complete routine administrative documentation, including mileage and travel reports, timekeeping and leave requests, training records, purchase orders, and other required agency forms. Support programs and agency community relationships by participating in community outreach. Practice professional work habits including dependability, ethical practices, ethical communication, adherence to agency and personnel policies and procedures, effective time management, independence, teamwork and responsibility. Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and community members. Pursue continuing education and professional growth experiences in the field of Early Intervention and Child Development, as well as in own professional field. Other duties may be assigned. Work Environment and Physical Effort General office environment. Conditions are pleasant, clean and professional where accidents/hazards are negligible. Requires extensive use of cell phones, computer, fax, and copiers. Clear diction, listening skills and appropriate professional office and telephone etiquette are necessary for effective communication with staff and public. Job will require entry into private homes, childcare centers and other community locations. Requires ability to navigate all areas the client may receive services including prolonged periods of sitting or kneeling on the floor, standing or bending. May be exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses. Required travel in employee’s own insured automobile including access to federal installations which required a RealID or Passport. Additional Requirements Meet Alaska SEED Level as determined by the State of Alaska, Department of Health, Senior and Disability Services, Infant Learning Program Unit. Completion of Part C Credential within three months of employment start. Ability to complete the State of Alaska Background Check requirements.
