Cook – Full-Time

Stone Cottage Care Center | Sigourney, IA

Stone Cottage Care Center is seeking a Cook to join our skilled nursing facility in Sigourney, IA . The Cook assists with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in accordance with planned menus and established portion control procedures.

Shift Available

• Full-Time | Days, Evenings, and some Weekends

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food served to residents.

• Plan food production to coordinate with scheduled meal serving hours.

• Memorize, record, and understand menu items, abbreviations, plate presentation, and portion sizes.

• Follow standard recipes and special diet orders.

• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.

• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.

• One year of dining services experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other healthcare setting preferred.

• Culinary school experience preferred.

• Ability to follow recipes, special diet instructions, and food safety procedures.

• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
